AMERICAN MANUFACTURERS NEED MORE TIME TO PRODUCE RELIABLE PRODUCTS

Many years ago while I was working on a doctoral in Administration and
Supervision, I wrote an article on American perception of American-
made compared to Foreign-made cars. I found some data comparing small
trucks. The first truck was known to be foreign-made and the other
similar truck was considered American-made. Both trucks are of the
same size and style. Americans preferred the Foreign-made to American-
made. But if you investigated further what the American-made truck
was made of, you will be surprised to know all parts of the American-
made truck were Foreign-made parts mostly from the same company that
made the Foreign-made truck. This shows that Americans have poor
perceptions of American-made products. And that is not irrational.
Such perceptions come from a long list of American-made products that
are really poor products. Nationalism is very improtant. But so
should be American-made products. In my new acquired second residence,
the kichen is furnished whith Whirlpool appliances. None of these
appliances worked first time. I had to call the manufacturer to send
his experts to make them work. In fact some of these experts tried to
extort money from me until I told Whirlpool about that and then the
expert had to apologize and return my money to me. In case of Troy-
Bilt lawn mower, they sell you a fake warranty along with a fake
warranty from the dealer or store such as Lowes, a low-grade supplier
of building products. The mower should only touch the grass for the
mower to be warranteed. If it touches a stone or wood and it breaks
immediately as of the kind of materials it is made of, Troy-Bilt
Warranty does not apply. You lost your mower. Lowes warranty begins
beginning the third year. This means none of these warranties will
ever be used as the mower will be destroyed by some obstacle in the
grass sooner or later. Fake products, and fake warrantees of American-
made products.
